Kolonbiotic® Stopper is a synbiotic intended for the reduction and prevention of acute diarrhea and the restoration of the microbiome balance for the whole family starting from age of 3. It effectively reduces acute diarrhea caused by dysbacteriosis, diarrhea caused by antibiotic therapy or diarrhea caused by travel.
With 5 billion Saccharomyces boulardii yeasts, 2 billion lactic acid bacteria Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG and fructo-oligosaccharides or indigestible dietary fiber all in 1 capsule, it helps to inhibit the development of pathogenic microorganisms and rebuild a beneficial intestinal flora, also recommended for use during trips — prophylactic use reduces the risk of travellers’ diarrhoea.
This modern symbiotic is produced in innovative capsules with sustained release, which becomes soluble only in the intestines. These capsules are characterized by increased resistance to the acidic pH of the stomach, protecting the bacteria from its destructive effects, and allowing them to safely reach the intestine and its colonization.
Kolonbiotic® Stopper is the latest generation synbiotic, which means it is probiotic and prebiotic in one capsule containing:
- Probiotics
- 2 billion special, patented lactic acid bacterial strain Lactobacillus rhamnosus ATCC 53103 (LGG®), which has a very high resistance to stomach and bile acids with very high avidity on colon cells, where they form colonies and multiply. Those are the same active, beneficial bacteria that live in the human gastrointestinal tract.
- at least 5 billion (5×109) lyophilized colony-forming, viable Saccharomyces boulardii strains DBVPG 6763 Biootic®, which has the ability to survive at human body temperature and is highly resistant to stomach acid and commonly used antibiotics.
- Prebiotics – fructooligosaccharides (FOS) are indigestible dietary fiber that is not broken down and absorbed in the small intestine, because the digestive organs do not release enzymes that can break down dietary fiber. Consequently, they have no nutritional value, but the dietary fiber is necessary because they promote intestinal peristalsis and the secretion of digestive juices. Additionally they have a beneficial effect on the intestinal microflora, acting as an energy source, it stimulates the activity and growth of beneficial intestinal bacteria.
Products that contain both of these types of biologically active compounds are called synbiotics. If the balance of the microflora is disturbed, then the best choice is to use prebiotics and probiotics in a set, because when entering body, they begin to work in symbiosis.
